The role of an Estimator / Project Manager involves taking charge of post-disaster cases until the completion of restoration work. They must plan and lead teams on-site, providing them with the necessary instructions for carrying out the work at clients’ premises.

Additionally, they act as experts for insurance companies while also maintaining a counseling role with the affected individuals, guiding them through the claims process.

Main responsibilities

  • Travel to the disaster sites to assess the reconstruction work that needs to be carried out.
  • Generate estimates using Xactimate software.
  • Establish the work schedule for the claims files.
  • Maintain communication and follow-up on the files with the claims adjuster and the insured parties.
  • Plan and daily manage the file as a team with the operations assistant.
  • Complete the appropriate forms according to the insurance companies’ requirements.
  • Manage the work teams on the construction sites.
  • Ensure the quality control of the work.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Maintain quality control of the work.

Requirements

  • Experience in the field of disaster restoration (an asset)
  • Experience in project management in residential and commercial construction and/or renovation
  • Estimation experience
  • Knowledge of Xactimate and XactAnalysis software (an asset)
  • Post-secondary diploma related to the position
  • Excellent fluency in French and English (spoken and written)
  • Possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
